Peak Area Consistency Evaluation in Gamma Spectrometry

چکیده
Quantification of radionuclide activities in gamma spectrometry can be a challenging task. It depends on efficiency calibration, peak area calculation, nuclide decay data and correction factors, such as attenuation or true coincidence summing corrections. These quantities present significant challenges to an accurate analysis. is therefore desirable have way assessing the quality quantification that applied samples with unknown compositions. A verification self-consistency analysis one possible accomplishing this. In it calculate using information from multiple emission energies. This leads overdetermined system for which solution used look inconsistencies. By calculating recovered areas comparing these measured areas, outliers identified by resolving inconsistencies spectrum improved. consistency evaluation find incorrect shape missing interferences data, point peaks where calculation needs optimized. The performance method has been shown simple consisting three radionuclides are interfering each other well complex composition activities. will integrated into future version Genie 2000 Gamma Spectroscopy Software.

Evaluation of peak-picking algorithms for protein mass spectrometry.
Peak picking is an early key step in MS data analysis. We compare three commonly used approaches to peak picking and discuss their merits by means of statistical analysis. Methods investigated encompass signal-to-noise ratio, continuous wavelet transform, and a correlation-based approach using a Gaussian template. Functionality of the three methods is illustrated and discussed in a practical co...
متن کاملNormal-Gamma-Bernoulli peak detection for analysis of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography mass spectrometry data
Compared to other analytical platforms, comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC×GC-MS) has much increased separation power for analysis of complex samples and thus is increasingly used in metabolomics for biomarker discovery. However, accurate peak detection remains a bottleneck for wide applications of GC×GC-MS. Therefore, the normal-exponential-Bern...
متن کاملImproving mass spectrometry peak detection using multiple peak alignment results.
Mass spectrometry data are often corrupted by noise. It is very difficult to simultaneously detect low-abundance peaks and reduce false-positive peak detection caused by noise. In this paper, we propose to improve peak detection using an additional constraint: the consistent appearance of similar true peaks across multiple spectra. We observe that false -positive peaks in general do not repeat ...
متن کاملProducing 65Zn and 60Co gamma sources for energy and efficiency calibration of gamma spectrometry systems
Precise calibration of energy and efficiency of gamma spectrometry systems for different geometries is very important. In most cases, preparation of these sources for educational and research centers is very difficult due to high costs and lack of access to the reactor. The purpose of this paper is to explain the procedure for production of calibration sources 65Zn and 60Co using instrumental ...
